About the Project
The Journeys of Hope program by Habitat for Humanity Cambodia (HFHC) has achieved remarkable success. Each project raised at least $500,000 and resulted in the building of 4 to 6 houses per event. The program is an annual series that brings together philanthropists from the United States, headed by Scott and Keely Sellers. They come to Cambodia in June every year to construct houses. The initiative commenced in 2013 and continued until 2016.
During my stint with Hope Journey, I had the privilege of working with high-profile individuals. It was an excellent opportunity for me to hone my skills in networking, learn how to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and elevate my confidence levels personally and professionally.
As a member of the Communications and Resource Development team, I took charge of a wide range of responsibilities including providing top-notch hospitality to our VIP volunteers, coordinating events with local authorities, conducting interviews with families and volunteers for family profiles, creating engaging social media/website content, drafting newsletters and annual reports, and ensuring smooth logistics for daily operations such as transportation, accommodation, food, and first-aid.
