About the Project
The Khmer Harvest Build project was initiated in 2009 as part of the Carter Work Project. During this project, 21 houses were built in just five days for the New Life Community by over 500 volunteers from different part of the world. Later, more land was acquired to build 50 additional homes for families who were forced to relocate from the Steung Meanchey dumpsite. The Khmer Harvest Build project managed to build homes for 22 of these 50 families.
Apart from assisting in media responsibility, logistic support, guest management, and overall communication, my primary task involved connecting with families, interviewing them, penning down their stories, and presenting them to the volunteers and donors. My team member and I interviewed 22 families, and the stories were documented by us. Here are some examples of the families we interviewed: http://habitatcambodia.org/khmer-harvest-build/khb-families-stories/
