Personal Statement for the Master of Public Administration Program
As part of the academic requirements for my MPA program, I am undertaking the development of a comprehensive Personal Statement as the final project. This task allows me to critically reflect on my academic journey and synthesize the knowledge and skills gained throughout the program.
I vividly recall discovering an English textbook on a desk when I was seven years old. Eagerly, I opened it to the first page, only to find myself confronted by a sea of unfamiliar words. At that moment, I made a promise to myself: one day, I would read that book from cover to cover. It was then that I truly recognized my deep hunger for knowledge and education. Despite the significant challenges I faced—family separation, domestic violence, bullying, and poverty—my unwavering determination to learn enabled me to overcome these obstacles and break free from the oppressive influence of my mother and grandmother. Today, I am committed to using my education to uplift others and make a meaningful contribution to society.
